Tekani Gonokallyan Shamajic Songstha (TGSS) is a non-political and non-profitable voluntary social welfare and socio economic development organization. It is established in 2014 by some dedicated and sincere persons under the leadership of Md. Saiful Islam a member of well-known Muslim family of Gorfatepur, Sonatola, Bogura.  In the backdrop of the widespread Poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and malnutrition resulting poor health of the majority of the population, TGSS initiated its people’s participatory development programs at Bogura district aiming at sustainable socio-economic development through agro-based production programs, poverty reduction, skill development, employment creation, ensuring Education, Health and Human rights.

 

TGSS also initiated Income Generation Activities (IGA) to address on and off farm employment for women Group of TGSS to improve incomes.

 

This website is being published by TGSS to reflect the views and activities of the organization.  We appreciate suggestions and contribution from our well-wishers and donors to extend activities for the development of Poor peoples.

BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANIZATION 

Tekani Jonokallayan Shamajik Songstha(TGSS) is a non-government, non-religious, non-political, non-profitable voluntary organization was established in 2014. It was formed with the initiatives of some social moderator specially Md. Saiful Islam along with some other philanthropists who was vast experienced in the field of Socio-economic development of the target group of beneficiaries under the district of Bogra, Bangladesh. Particularly, also ensure integration to the distressed and vulnerable people with disable including child with disability and women with disability into the mainstream of socio-economic condition with equal opportunities. The organization fully established in right base activities with poverty level through applying various methods and techniques including group formation, providing Income Generating Activity (IGA), agriculture, fish culture, water & sanitation & training support, establishing non-formal education, providing health support for the disabled and non-disabled in the remote area. Organization also has obtained an incorporate certificate from Joint Stock Companies & Firms of Bangladesh vide No. C-149431/2019 for continuing business in Bangladesh.

MISSION:
Actively work with the poor and disadvantaged people in equal opportunity, equal distribution and for qualitative development in the society.

VISION:
A peaceful, happiness, injustice free society where disabled and non-disabled people living with ecological balance and settles up self-sustaining development.

GOAL:
The overall goal of TGSS to achieved sustainable increase in living standard of Persons with Disabled (PWDs) and the rural poor through enabling and empowering them with appropriate skill, confident and to assist them acquiring necessary economic and social infrastructure and environmental resources to solve their problems.

OBJECT:
The objectives of the organization are:
 To make the target beneficiaries i.e. distressed men, women, children and disabled person’s income oriented in a view to achieve their basic demands possible;
 To ascertain health & health education for all;
 To organize women in such a way so that they can accumulate wealth and be able to its utmost use;
 To establish justice and be able to remove crime tendency;
 To educate target beneficiaries through functional and non-formal education;
 To provide necessary training’s for staff and target group members for economic and social development;
 To establish child rights and women rights;
 To ensure human rights for the vulnerable people;
 To build up institution for the poor people;
 To involve them in Daily Living Activities and Income Generating Activities;

PRINCIPLES OF THE ORGANIZATION
To achieve the goal of the organization for socio-economic development of the poor and disabled in the society through ICT’s proper utilization and local resources. implementation of decision with.

GOVERNANCE OF THE ORGANIZATION

The General Committee(GC):
There is a General Committee consisting of 21 members from different areas of professional like social worker, Teacher, Businessman, farmer and housewife etc. This committee is the supreme authority to approve annual budget, any kind of policies, rules and regulation and decisions. The committee meets once in a year. The committee can meet in the meeting when necessary.

The Executive Committee(EC):
The Executive Committee of TGSS is elected by the members of the general committee for the period of 3 years. It is consisted 7 members from different professionals. The Executive Committee is responsible for management, administration, policy making and implementation of all projects activities of the organization. The EC is sole authority to undertake and execute development programs of the organization. The Executive Director is empowered to take final decisions in all matters. He also acts as the chairperson of the Executive Committee and responsible for maintaining liaison with Government, Donors, Partners organizations and other agencies. The EC meets every 3(three) months in the year and whenever needs.

SWOT ANALYSIS OF THE ORGANIZATION:

 

Strength of Organization:

  1. Strong communication and dedication of the staff, committee members and beneficiaries
  2. Suitable and feasible program location.
  3. High acceptance of community, local administration, government departs and local elite.
  4. Sufficient experience and trained staff and volunteers.
  5. Good relationship with the government departments and local administration.
  6. Experienced and NGO involved policymaking body.
  7. Have necessary policy papers like, job description, service rules, group policy manual, credit policy, health policy manual, administration and financial policy manual, static plan, strong constitution, savings policy manual and related documentation.

 

Weaknesses of Organization:

  1. Organization always suffering to do the social for need based funding.
  2. Effort to the unskilled staff for providing technical skill.
  3. Economically sound persons are engaged of their business but no time for social working.
  4. Organization has been working with insufficient funding.

 

Opportunities of Organization:

  1. Huge scope of work and sufficient target people.
  2. Have technical knowhow and commitment.
  3. Have sufficient manpower.
  4. Government cooperation is available.
  5. Local people are fever able and supportive.

Future Plan of the Organization

 

TGSS being an organization with enough experiences and skilled workforce conceives different sectors of development need to be responded for the integrated development of the lees fortunate people. But resources are limited. We have been struggling to the vast areas of needs with the limited resources. That’s why we are requesting you to take this proposal with much sympathy and help us to important the same as a sector of integrated development.

 

TGSS has firm belief in God the Almighty will enkindle the hearts and minds of the benevolent donor agencies and will come forward for the cause of the lees fortunate rural people of Bangladesh. TGSS like other organizations has capability & credibility. This we expect your wholehearted supports so that partnership among us is development, strengthened and we can reach the vision. TGSS expects total /integral development of human beings so that they –flourish with love towards each other, do not exploit others, do not go to bed in hunger, educated their children, women are no more tortured rather than can live with human dignity &rights. TGSS believes that it is only the training, which is a strong vehicle to create awareness, good attitudes and skill.

 

In order to enable self-refinance and prospect of the beneficiaries, TGSS will continue help group members in capital mobilization/fund rising through regular thrift savings.

 

Establish TGSS a people oriented organization where people will feel- TGSS is their own organization, they will have easy access as it us now, participate actively in planning –implementation, monitoring & evaluating of the programs.

 

On the basis of social demand, organization will take initiative to implement the following programs to achieve the Goal in respect all of the policies and guidelines of the organization. The programs are as follows:

  • Special School for Child with Disabilities (CWDs).
  • Health Rehabilitation Centre for PWDs and CWDs.
  • Child Care Centre only for deprived poor and disabled children.
  • Youth skill development training cell in Sonatola upazila under Bogra district.
  • Handicraft Show Room setup at upazila level.
