Tekani Gonokallyan Shamajic Songstha (TGSS) is a local NGO. It was established in 2014 with the initiation of some like minded social workers with an aim to promote the socio-economic and cultural status of the rural and urban poor and vulnerable people, emphasizing the women and children through concretization, capacity building, institution building, capital formation, utilization of local resources and undertaking felt-need based problem solving programs by adopting modem and scientific techniques. Tekani Gonokallyan Shamajic Songstha (TGSS) has been implementing the activities of TGSS has been in the implementation of Education, Health, Disable Development, Tree Plantation, Water and Sanitation, Human Rights, Agriculture, Fisheries, Handicrafts , Training and Awareness Building program from several years with own contribution and support of local donation. The achievements arc remarkable and praiseworthy within the short time and achieved a very good reputation in the locality and among the local administration and Govt. departments and getting all sorts of technical and moral supports and co-operation. Tekani Gonokallyan Shamajic Songstha (TGSS) has been in the implementation of its projects at Bogura district. Already TGSS has covered 16 villages of 5 Unions under Sonatola Upazia of Bogura District and literate 300 illiterate group members, build a full-fledged training centre, developed one nursery, one paca Office building with sufficient accommodation, central training centre with full fledged furniture-fixture, equipment, installed 30 tubewells, installed 125 sanitary latrines, planted app. 1000 trees seedlings, provided handicrafts and sewing training to 450 women and girls, provided primary health, nutrition and family planning education to 1150 members and other community people. Re-excavated 9 ponds and cultivated improved varieties of fishes, which has reflected good production and income for the local fisher folks. It has also developed and trained up 25 staff members and volunteers, who are well trained and skilled and also well qualified. It has also developed Gender policy, financial manual, management policy, strategic plan, service rules etc. and all the activities are carried out following these manuals.
